SL #1

DSC_0156Blogging from Sri Lanka and this is Day One. Managed to get a fantastic driver to accompany us for the first 10 days of our trip. We took a detour for him to bid farewell to his family and had a sneak peak into the home of a typical Sri Lankan family. It was humble and welcoming. They even packed me biscuits for the road! On the way to Annuradhapura (I still can’t pronounce it), we managed to catch a group of fisherman after their haul out at sea and got out to see some live action. We’re finally here after a long drive. It’s time for dinner. Can’t wait to visit the ancient city tomorrow.

Peace & Love,

  1. Welcome to Sri Lanka. The locals are very friendly to tourists, although the same thing can’t be said about the hospitality between the locals. 😉 Anuradhapura is a great place to see Sri Lankan history. However, if you want to have some good time, you better head down south (hikkaduwa, Galle…etc). Enjoy your stay in SL…looking forward to seeing an outsider’s perspective.

    1. Thank you for the advice! I am going to be here for awhile so I’ll definitely head down south. Looking forward! 🙂 I’ve met very kind souls since I touched down. Feeling the warmth from the locals (along with the weather!)
